But I did know that the powdered steel I was using in my canister was good steel. I didn’t know what was high carbon (good steel) and what was mild (shitty steel). I began filling my can with whiteout and harvesting steel from the BBQ. That would have been too easy! So, canister damascus seemed to be the best route. Last episode I had, a girl in round 2 only had blocks for her handle, no refinement, so no testing, a combination of the nasty challenge and the reduced round time.Upon seeing the BBQ, my first thought was, "Damn I really hope that spit bar is high carbon, I could easily take that 1/2" round and make a great knife out of it." Of course it wasn't. Sure, they make it easier to find a winner/loser, but I like it better when the smiths can do a better job, end up with a nicer end product. Personally I hate the shortened times and more complicated complications. And the order leaves a lot to be desired, so as a completionist I've had to keep careful track to make sure to catch episodes I haven't seen. Last year's Hallowe'en episode never aired until this Hallowe'en, ditto with the Christmas episode which I should be catching this week. It seemed like Season 7 ended in May, then in September I started seeing more Season 7 episode numbers, IMDb listed them all as having airdates in the summer. I just saw the last episode to get me up to date, which on IMDb has an original air date of July something. The Canadian one I watch and the American one that makes the show, because mine has been very sloppy about airing them. I've come to the realization that there are 2 History channels. I too miss the judges room, seeing the competitors squirming on cozy couches while watching through the window. About to start Season 8 at Episode 2 for some reason) it seems like even they realized 24 hour epoxy was a mean red herring, I haven't seen it come up in a few seasons. Having seen every episode now (well, except The Partizan, it has somehow avoided me, and I think last Christmas. Why did they get rid of that - I loved it. Good for him.ĮTA: Man, the early seasons have segments where the judges discuss each blade in more detail before ruling. Knowing Will will leave is a bummer, but it is hard to feel too bad 7 seasons is not exactly nothing. I now look dubiously at my kitchen knives.
